I am a double UTK grad: my first degree is in mechanical engineering and my second is a law degree. After graduating from engineering school, I worked in a variety of engineering roles with the bulk being in mechanical design engineering. From there, I really enjoyed certain aspects of the engineering process, specifically problem solving and new product creation, but I did not enjoy other aspects. I pivoted and went to Law School and focused on intellectual property and now work to help inventors and innovators protect their valuable IP. My work is primarily in mechanical devices but gets into some software and electrical type inventions. I also do a lot of trademark work and advising on adopting a mark or brand and how to best protect that. I am from a small farming community called Apison right outside of Chattanooga. After living and working in Knoxville during law school, my wife and I returned to the Chattanooga area and we now have two crazy baby boys.
